Classification of Hearing Aids

The hearing aid is a small loudspeaker, which enlarges the sounds that could not be heard, and makes use of the residual hearing of the hearing impaired, so that the sound can be sent to the brain auditory center and feel the sound. It consists of microphone, amplifier, headphone, power supply and volume control. Hearing aids are divided into air-guided hearing aids and bone-guided hearing aids according to conduction mode, and box-type (pocket hearing aids), eyeglasses-type, hairpin-type, back-of-ear type, inner-ear type, auditory canal type and deep-ear canal type hearing aids according to their usage mode.

Hearing aids are devices that help improve hearing, in fact, they are small semiconductor amplifiers. Their function is to amplify the weak sound and then transmit it to the earphone, so that the part of the original hearing loss can hear the sound with the help of amplification. In addition, there is a different standard classification method, more detailed than the above methods are the following types, but the role and principle are the same.


(1) From the external structure, it can be divided into box type (pocket hearing aid), ear back type and inner ear type, while the inner ear type can be divided into ordinary inner ear type, ear canal type and deep ear canal type.

(2) According to the electronic principle, it can be divided into analog hearing aids, programmable hearing aids, all-digital hearing aids, wide dynamic language technology hearing aids and so on.

(3) Hearing aids are divided into air-guided hearing aids and bone-guided hearing aids according to the conduction mode. The box type (pocket hearing aid), ear back type and inner ear type all belong to air conduction hearing aid.
